In the the stable next door are our two permanent residents. Two donkeys who always love a chat. Please do not feed them.

Words cannot describe how special this property is. An absolute gem , steeped in history in West Cork. Every inch of the property was so well restored with magical details throughout the house. The owner Tom left some beautiful presents to welcome us - Food in the fridge , wine and most special of all a forged iron rose which I will keep as a momentum of a fabulous weekend spent in Maggie's Wood with all my friends. We'll definitely be back 🧡

Absolutely blown away by the attention to detail in this Air BnB. The mix of contemporary furniture meet old world was perfectly achieved. Many of the historic items had a framed back story, which gave us an insight to the history of this 200 year old cottage. The facilities in this place were great, an outdoor hot tub with a cold bucket water shower, really added to the experience. We brought enough food to cook, and the kitchen area had ample cooking and seating facilities. Theres a beach within walking distance, and a shop about a 1 minute drive. Overall a lovely expereince would highly recommend

We would give this Airbnb six stars if we could. The house was so well laid out with everything our group could need. The cost was very reasonable for the Easter break. The check in was so easy and Tom was very responsive to messages. The hosts had left some essentials like shampoo and toiletries plus some food in the fridge, the guys in the group were very grateful for the Clonakilty sausages and pudding for the hangover ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It was great to see the cottage from construction right through to completion, a real labour of love it is clear to see. The location itself is close to everywhere and we found a great mini bus driver John, from Niall Johnston Bus hire who brought us in and out to Clonakilty & other local places, he was a real character! We just wish we could have stayed longer! You won’t be disappointed staying here, a real hidden gem ♥️🤍

Maggy’s Wood is a traditional cottage/farmhouse that is over 200 years old. The outside looks like it came from a bygone era with a thatched roof on the stable and white washed walls. All set in peaceful nature with a ½ acre woodland and garden right next to the cottage. It's a wonderful place to watch the stars and planets as there is very little light pollution there.
